Kitten Rescue
Currently listening to “Cascade” by “John Herberman”
Currently STRESSED!!
Around 5 something, on my way back to BBU from class…
I saw Scratcher ( the mother cat who used to hang around SEC building ) at FOSEE ( “the FOSEE” building. I refuse to call the new building FOSEE. ).
The cat which mews rarely mew a lot at that time. I found out something’s wrong. Oh, her kitten fell into the drain. Scrather crying for help ( uh, of course she’s not literally crying ).
So, being a nice MMU student, I tried to pick up the kitten out of the drain. Z0MG! The kitten is too DARN cute. Sorry, no pics, too focused on trying to “save” the cat.
There’s 3 problem. The kitten is quite big already ( too heavy for the mom to carry out from the drain ). The kitten is too scared of humans. And… the kitten’s keep on hiding below the drain out of human reach.
Stress. Stress. Stress.
The only thing that can pull the kitten out from it’s hiding place it’s the mom. Only mommy cat can pull the kitten out of the place.
Sitting ducks waiting for the kitten to come out ( more than 20 minutes ), I realized that 2 girls keep on staring at me. They left for a while and stare at me from a distance.
They came back again and asked what am I doing. I told them that I’m trying to save the kitten. And.. they told me that.. they wanted the kitten for a long time already. I’m not interested in keeping the kitten, just interested in saving the cat.
So, we tried various ways to lure the kitten out. Then, Faizal came to the scene. He also can’t do anything. Fine. The security came curiously. Told them that we’re trying to pull out the kitten.
The security suggested weird weird stuff such as, rip some of the plants at the side, burn it and put it in the drain to scare the cat so the cat will go to the other side. They also tried to get a long stick from the cleaners. Okay ~
One hour passed just like that. The kitten is still down there. GAWD DAMMIT! Come out! I’m trying to save you.. ( the girls are trying to enslave you ~ ). Mommy cat keep on mewing non-stop. Shut up and tell you kid that I’m a nice person.
Argh.
Later, we keep quiet for a long time. Finally the kitten came out. Waiting for the cat to keep on walking along the drain and wait for it to reach the point between to drain covers aka hiding spot. Quickly, I tried to grab the kitten but I failed. The kitten ran towards its hiding spot again but this time one of the girl block it. The girl managed to grab the kitten.
The kitten’s resist like crazy. Panic, the girl let go of the kitten on the ground… the kitten ran… into the drain again.
WTF.
I almost give up. But no way. The kitten must be saved no matter what.
Used the same strategy again. Same thing happened.
In the end, the day became dark and it’s pass 7 already. I can’t stand and go home.
Why? Why? Why? I hate myself. I suck. I can’t even save a kitten.

Wow nice post! Good heart!

Really so kind hearted you… If I, err, would have walk away.
Say, really WTF, took so many hours but still cant save a kitten. Hmmm…
So, in the end, the kitten is still in the drain?
Umm.. spend more than 2 hours there. Yeah, the kitten is still in the drain.
No, I dun think that I’m kind hearted. If I’m kind hearted, I think I stayed there until the kitten’s out.
I think it’s the same kitten me and Kakashin saw today. Is it the one right outside of Block B? We were walking by and we heard the meowing. We stopped and searched for the sound only to find the kitten in the drain. It was around 5 something almost 6 at that time.
IT’S FOSEE DAMMIT! Dun call it Block B.
Ehem. Yeah, it’s the same cat. If you said around 5 something, then I was there..
Edo: Maybe you could have bought food for it?
You see.. even kitten scare at you… you just should called me back then.. huahahhaha…. to take the picture of scared kitten… :p and the evil man… :D
Btw Edo… love the GACC BBQ seaside picture ;)
Lego: It’s still a kitten, wont get attracted to foods. Or maybe, the mommy cat will take over the food first.
About the pic, thanks.
It symbolizes that “I’m Alive”… for now…
