Server Upgrades : Ubuntu 7.04

I’ve “Upgraded the Student Server ( or Gigahertz 2 ) yesterday night” / “Didn’t sleep for the whole night yesterday”.

The latest Ubuntu release was out yesterday ( ver 7.04 “Feisty Fawn” ) featuring… stuffs that most probably i wont use and other spbians wont understand. Oh, what the heck, just update it.

Interesting fact : Every version of release have it’s own codename. Like this one, “Feisty Fawn”. Previously they have “Edgy Eft”, “Dapper Drake”, “Breezy Badger” and other more weird weird “cheesy” names. No, there’s no “Killer Kitten” yet.

It took 5 hours to download the whole update packages. I’m pretty sure that LOTSA people are hogging their servers now impatient to try out… something that i dun even know.

Also at the same time, I fix Lin Hui’s “dying” laptop. Her laptop has been acting weirdly and after I “scan” her pc with installed AVG… it gave me a shocking number of “threats detected” : 900+ worms detected. And… AVG is “too smart” to move all the infected files to the quarantine without asking me. So yeah, ALL the infected files are quarantined.. INCLUDING THE SYSTEM FILES. Gone. Her Windows died straight away after that. Sheesh. Thanks a lot AVG.

Her laptop is okay now.

Where was I? Oh yeah, the server upgrade… everything went smoothly after that. No incompatibility, no crashes, no hiccups… like always… unlike Microsoft(R) Windows(R).

PS: “Killer Kitten”… I want to see that..
