Just kidding. We didn’t go to Penang. Really. Do not click “Read more” And stop reading my blog. I’m not doing anything suspicious, really. I love you, Mom.

If you’re not my mom ( or not going to tell my mom ):
HOLYSHIT! HELL YEAH! Click “Read More”…

Pilot 01: Commander Kheirul Aizat

WARNING: Not dial-up safe. A lot of pictures take would make your modem cry.

Ok, after the previous Melaka-KL-Melaka trip, the idea of going to Penang is just a joke. Really. Until one time where they start saying “why not”, things start to change. At first, I hesitate, because the idea is too crazy.

Come on. I’m going to waste petrol. Waste time. Waste energy. And contribute to global warming. So, why the hell should i do such stupid thing like going to Penang?

And there comes “Oceans 13″ trailer that reminds me of the “why not?” line. Oh, Gawd dammit. They already started planning trip without my greenlight. I was like, “what the hell”? I didn’t even say yes yet. Sheesh. I only gave em a greenlight a night before we leave. So, yeah, off we go to Penang.

Sigh. My mom is going to kill me if she knows about this.

Ok, off we go. Here’s the route: Since we’re in a hurry, we had to take the shortest tolless route. So, we used the Ayer Keroh-Alor Gajah highway straight to Alor Gajah. Then, we are on the same track like the previous trip to KL.

Caution: Crazy driver
Co-Pilot 01: Ivan Tan

My car is the pilot car. The guy above is my co-pilot and he hold the map. In the picture above, I’m stopping by a petrol station in front of my aunty’s house in Klang. Ivan is dependable at time. And of course, later when everybody is tired, he became kinda undependable.

From Klang, we head straight to Kuala Selangor. From Klang, the road became unexpected boring. Extremely boring. STRAIGHT ROADS!! What the hell? Where’s the winding paths? It’s reallly realllllly realllllllllllly boring. Extremely boring.

Sunrise!

On the way to Sabak Bernam and it’s sunrise. Wow, i’ve been driving for 6 hours already.

See? Straight roads
Useless Lights

See that trafic light above? That traffic light is crazy. I’m like a fool “obeying” the traffic light. It only show red light. It took 3 green lights from the opposite side before I realize it. Sigh.

More straight roads
Tired of “Sitting”
MORE STRAIGHT ROADS!!!

Oh kay, this is getting extremely boring. Straight roads are really boring. Boring makes driver sleepy.

*look at rearview mirror*
*saw other car knock plastic barrier*
*other car out of control*
*see huge-ass big truck behind other car*
*other car luckily regained control*

ZOMG! WTF HAPPENED BACK THERE? Aaron knocked a plastic barrier ( refer to previous pic ). What happened to the car? Nothing much, just cosmetic damages.

Survivor

The front grill, number plate and signal light damaged. But the car is still alive and pumpin’.

Passenger 01: Ben

We finally reached Teluk Intan. Yep, home to the menara condong/senget. Stopped here for breakfast. Really hungry and tired.

Both the picture and the tower is senget

What do you do after you see a car accident? You…

* write write *

tikam nombor ekor. Just kidding, he just pretend to write something up there.

Pilot Car Passengers
Pilot Space

That’s my space. That blue towel acts as my blanket… and later, my towel. Dun worry, it’s a new towel. I’m not that disgusting.

Ok, it’s time to leave Teluk Intan and move on. Also it’s time to face…

A straight bridge

…more straight roads. In the previous pic, it’s a straight bridge, which leads to…

Never EVER give road planners a “ruler”

…more straight roads.

Front view of Second Car
Cockpit Cam

Nice view, let’s stop for a while. I like this green field. It’s so vast that it looks like it never end till the horizon line.

Me like Green Paddy Field
Me really like Green Paddy Field

Look behind me in the previous pic. Yep, it’s till the horizon line. Awesome view. Ok, let’s move on again…

Some guy accidentally gave road planner a ruler

and face more straight paths. What’s with these straight paths anyway? Can’t they add curves or something? I didn’t sign up to this challenge to drive straight roads! ARGH!

Okay, it’s 11.27am…

What? We’re really here? REALLY?

and i saw “that”. OMG! I’m really there! We crossed that Penang state border at 11.29am.

c10s3r 2 t3h br1dg3
And finally on the bridge

We crossed the bridge at 12.22pm. Finally i’m driving on the bridge. Previously, the last time i went to Penang, my dad didn’t let me drive on the bridge because of God knows why. Now, i get to drive on the bridge with MY car. No big deal actually, i just want the “experience” of driving on that 14km long bridge only.

Approaching the mid-point

Once were on the island, we straight away head to Batu Feringgi like planned. On the way there it started to rain, so i changed the plan and we went to the nearest shopping complex. Oh, this is boring. Drive up to Penang and we end up in a shopping complex. Sigh.

Time to meet up our “tour guide”.

This is Eric

That’s Eric. A Penangite + SPB Photographer. He’s our tour guide. Heh.

Ok, here’s the thing. Basically, he’s like Khurshid. Khurshid is a Melakan, but he don’t know his way around Melaka well. Same thing goes to Eric.

“Do I Look Like I Care?”

BTW. Something is going on at the concourse. Some famous chinese singer was performing there.

Suzie

Okay, time for lunch. So, Eric bring us to some Nasi Kandar shop. Oh yeah. He drives fast like there’s no one following him from behind. I got sesat so many times. Thanks to my ‘pathfinding’ talent, i’m familiar with Penang routes fast. >:)

After lunch, we went to some place… i dunno where. Carl wanted to buy a dragon katana. So, Eric bought us to somewhere he never been to.

Intel Outside
“I think I’m cool now”

That’s the katana… that he didn’t buy. The shopkeeper sells it at RM150… and that shopkeeper is desperate. Does he look like a gangster to you? If he does, I think HE IS. He’s so desperate to sell it, he lowered down the price like FUCK. From 150 to 50, from 50 to 10. Is he crazy or something. He’s so rude and force us to buy it. What fuck? Carl dun like his attitude and just leave.

View from above

After escaping that tourist trap spot, we head up to ‘whatisitcalled’ temple on a hill. The view from the hill is kinda nice.

*ehem*

Okay, everybody is tired… and sticky. We went to Eric’s house for a quick rest. Let me remind you all that we haven’t got any proper rest since we leave Melaka. So, it’s time for me to…

Zzz..

…take a rest. Some ass took a pic of me sleeping, dammit. Note that I still didn’t get a properly sleep. It’s more like a nap, while waiting for others to finish bathing. After finish bathing, we’re out from the house. No time to waste.

Edo after 19 hours

Time to go home. Plan : Escape from Island using the ferry. So, to the ferry place we go… to find out that the queue is a waiting hell. We were stuck in a queue for almost 30 minutes. Nearly all the car in queue killed their engine to save petrol. Since were in a hurry, Aaron decided that we should leave the queue and let’s use the bridge again. We did that. We parked at side for while. 5 mins after that, the ferry arrived and they all went in. FUCK! We shouldn’t have leave the queue. ARGH.

Still in queue
Do look at the queue
Standby while waiting in queue
Parked at side. Behind there is the queue. Minutes before the ferry arrived. Notice something different with Muharram’s car? Let’s take closer look..
“WCG 4300″ + small smiley face

So, we leave Penang. Since the challenge is done, we could take the highway now. But, we didn’t use the highway all the way. Penang to KL toll cost is extremely high ( Eric told us RM150 ). So, we entered from Butterworth and come out in Changkat Jering. Yep, we save A LOT of time.

Not for long…

Somewhere on the way Sitiawan, in the middle of nothingness, where we rarely see other cars…

… I experienced a “rough ride” where the roads are smooth and potless. It’s not the road… but my tire. ARGH!

ARGH!!!

Yep. Flat tire. That sucks. Okay, actually, it’s just a flat tire. No big deal. The real problem is “changing” the tire. The screws are EXTREMELY tight that it bended my friend’s tool. WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS?! If i’m a girl and there’s no one around, I’m going to end up in tomorrow’s newpaper rape case headline ( assuming that i’m cute if i’m a girl ).

Figuring out how to unscrew the screws

In the end, Aaron used extreme brute force to unscrew it ( i’m talking about “extreme super duper” brute force here like your mom is going to die if you didn’t unscrew it ). And.. it budged.. a bit. Finally we managed to unscrew the 4 tight screws.

Ok, continue back to Melaka. Finally, I’m not driving my car. Co-pilot Ben took over my place and I became the coordinator. Not for long. He got tired and i took my pilot seat again in Sitiawan. When we reached When we reach KL ( 7.30am ), we used highway again straight away to Melaka.

In Nilai, i reached my limit. I don’t think i can drive safely anymore and I let Carl took over my place.

Edo after 33 hours

Time to sleep. Yay. ZZZZZZZ.

I woke up and I’m already at Law School. Tired to do other things ( including taking out bags ), i straight go back home. Take a bath… and lay dead on the bed.

That’s the end of a stupid challenge of going to Penang without paying tolls. The End.

PS: Too much.. Way too much…
