Repartition My Disk

ARGH! My partition assigned to store music file is running out. I still have 2GB+ unsorted music and I’m left with 600MB+ space. I was wrong when I thought I’m not going to fill up the 50GB partition within this year.
I’m planning to repartition my Hard Disk. At the same time, this might be a good time to reinstall my windows and sort all the partition again. I wanted to reinstall my windows for a very long time already because of:
- Increase size of System Partition BIG TIME, because I store all my Pictures in “My Pictures” in my windows account.
- Reset the Partition Drive Letter. Currently my OS is installed in “E”, because XP was occupying my “C” until now ( for usability purposes. who knows, Vista might phailed me on my first day )
- Kill my XP and claim moar space
- Instant kill to all installed programs. Want to reinstall everything with latest update, especially Adobe CS3 products.
Currently I have 2 internal HDD ( 200GB, 200GB ) and 1 always connected external HDD ( 160GB ). Most probably will move all my music to the external HDD. Sigh, repartitioning and reinstalling Vista is going to take a VERY long time. Maybe I’ll do it after the exam.

160GB of music, no probs, get the new iPod, done.
Thinking of getting another 250GB or maybe 500Gb if lucky.
Thinking of making a Windows server for downloading, linux is the pain…
Not going back this sem, got work to do.

Yeah, I feel your pain. My music collection just reached 190GB the other day, and the partition it’s on is only 200GB.
Going to move that to a new 320GB HDD, dedicated solely for music, once I finish exams. Current mobo only has 2 SATA slots, so I have to buy a SATA expansion card to do it, sigh.
I’ll probably revamp my partitions as well, lol. Currently, I’m having too problems of too many small partitions for Windows, temp file and other stuff.

Wow.
160GB eh ? Do you actually listen to all those everyday ? Mine’s just about 20GB, and can say that I only listen about 10% so far of my whole collection.

Hahaha reorganizing partitions suck. I had a tough time making room to move things around, too. I still don’t feel pressed enough to install Windows Bloat, though.

Dude, you know you can like right-click the “My …..” folders and move them right? :o saves managing them lateron.
