My Love For Suzie

Currently listening to nothing
Currently back at “home”

That’s Suzie – a cute small green coloured 850Ezi Perodua Kancil. I love Suzie, and I felt like talking about her. This is her story.

Since in 2004 when I’m accepted to MMU, I’ve been staying off-home. Although my home is not that far, it is not walking distance. At that time, my family only have 2 cars : My mom’s Toyota Vios and my dad’s Proton Wira. My mom use her car to work ( also send my bro to school at the same time ). My dad’s Proton Wira was with my grandpa back in kampung ( which my grandpa use it to fetch my bro back from school ). So, i have no transport to go campus, hence, i move out to somewhere near campus.

A year later, my bro also got accepted to MMU ( yep, life is boring, he’s following me everywhere =_=; ). It’s not a good idea to move us both out of the house because that would mean leaving my mom alone at home. So, my bro decided to stay at home and my mom decided to buy a new car.

That’s where the Kancil was bought. Cheap, used, small, automatic-transmission car. Fuel economical? Not at all. This is a 3-speed automatic transmission car with an old Daihatsu carburetor engine. The car runs at 4000rpm to reach 100kph constant. Sad isn’t it? ( Got a hint why the 360 incident happened now? )

Although it was registered under my name, it was meant to be used for my brother. He don’t want the car at that time though, he prefered a motorcycle. Named after someone significant in my life and the whole family starts calling it “Suzie”.

Then, a year later my dad came back and decided to replace the aging Proton Wira with Proton Waja. That car goes to my bro. So, since then my bro has been using it, the family gave me the kancil to me. We named the car “Bob”. There’s a lot of reason why he’s using the car instead of me. The main reason is, he’s staying at home where the car will be nicely shaded under the house’s porch. And another reason is my gramps is left without a car now. My grandma will call my bro up if she need to go out to market or something.

There you go, the reason behind why I’m using the Kancil now instead of him.

Of course, they are some asked why I didn’t I just stay at home now. Well, the answer is simple: I’m a spoiled brat. Although my mom dun really mind if I come back at home somewhere around 4am, I don’t feel good about it. So, I still prefer to live off-home, where I could have some freedom a bit. And also, I dislike to drive Bob. It’s BIG.

Now, Suzie.

Suzie is still with me… dying slowly. So far only 2 accidents record: One where my bro banged another car from the side, and a few week later after that a car banged me from behind. Both accidents, we did nothing to fix the damage done to the car until now. You can see that front kangaroo bar is bent inwards touching the bumper now, and there’s minor scratch at the back of the car.

I loved Suzie a lot, but that doesn’t mean I don’t abuse her. She has been abused a lot, heck, I drove her up to Penang using trunk road >:D . Don’t worry, she’s a tough girl. Her air-conditioning system currently spoiled, again. The engine is off-timed. Exceeded the oil-engine mileage. And The drive shaft is dying.

Yeah, she sounds like she’s dying anytime soon but don’t worry, she’s suffice for my daily uses. She wont go up to KL again though until the drive shaft is fixed which I doubt it’s not going to be fixed at all.

Why didn’t my parents replace it with a better car? Actually, they did plan to… but I refuse to. A lot people know this fact and call me an idiot. Those idiots are mostly the ones who would love to abuse me of course. I still don’t see any point of changing the car because to me the car still can drive me to campus as originally planed. My parents plan to replace the car because they see that the car’s maintenance cost is quite high lately ( especially replacing the drive shaft ). They feel its better to replace the car than constantly replacing the old car’s part. They have a point but… i prefer them not to waste their money on a new car ( and them not to whine running out of money ).

Ok, actually i just love Suzie a lot. I don’t want them to replace her. There’s a lot of reason why I love Suzie. First, it’s a small car.. and it’s cute. They’re planning to replace it with a Myvi, which is not a small car. Small car is cool to drive in town with lotsa traffic jams, or small places like the Jonker street. Then, of course, lotsa sentimental values. Sayang woo ~ There are other reasons which I’m too lazy to type.

Finally, now they are not planning to replace the car… and not replacing the drive shaft… =_=;

So is there anyone who’s going to donate me money? Let’s start a “Replace Suzie’s Drive Shaft” Fund >:)

I love you, Suzie! I even expressed it here.

PS: Wondering what’s my mom’s car is called? Well, actually we don’t a have a name for it since my mom is going to call it weird weird names that’s going to make us puke like “Aragon”, “Legolas”, “Orlando Bloom” or something liddat. Seriously =_=;. So, i just call the car “Mom’s Joy”.
