ReCap: DaiCon
Currently listening to “Evacuating London” by “Harry Gregson-Williams”
Currently HUNGRY!
A lot of thing are missing in this blog and it’s time to do something about it. It’s time for ReCap, and I’ll start with DaiCon.
It’s a common fact that DaiCon completely went the opposite direction of my expectation. The event, sadly, sucked. I can’t comment on it much because most will say my opinions on it will be extremely biased since I’m heading GACC.
The fact that the event suck came hard to me. I’ve been telling everyone that the event is going to be awesome: Yuki Nagato is coming to Cyberjaya Grand Hall. I mean, how bad can it be? Even if things went wrong, Yuki Nagato can always save the day.
But it turns out that the event was BAD. Not as bad as Taylor’s Anime Fest, but BAD! Ok, maybe it’s not so bad for those who paid extra to see the concert, but I’m one of the majority who didn’t pay, so.. BAD! I mean, who would thought of dividing the whole hall into 2 with partition boards and punish who came all the way to cyber but refuses to pay extra RM50 just to be on the other side of the hall?
Ok, I went too far. I can’t comment much like I said – people will label my opinion extremely bias as I lead GACC.
The promises I made to others, telling them that they’re not going to regret going to DaiCon was… BAD. People coming to me and said “Edo, what is this shit?” or “I’ve wasted my money here thanks to your suggestion”. It’s another classic case of overhype. I look at them and say “I’m innocent”.
And now, guess what? The DaiCon Committees hates me. Because they claim that I’m spreading the hate. Good job! Nice Public Relations there when they don’t even bother trying to contact us to clarify on anything. Yes, folks! I’m “Satan”, root of all evil.
So now, officially : DaiCon Committees are openly hostile to us. They hate us, a lot. ( they hate us so much they even organize a meat outing on GACC’s date ).
Suck or not, I still have a job there: To promote my events – GACC2009 and Comic Fiesta. Promotion job was easier than I thought, since this year EMiNA Melaka’s members are extremely hyper to the uncontrollable level, so I don’t have to do much. I just sit ( or at times, arrange chairs.. and sleep ).
We also did a very controversial “GACC March” ( well, it wasn’t that controversial in Comic Fiesta 2007 ). It was kinda scary and whoops, wished we didn’t did that ( although some enjoyed it ).
So, in the end all the EMiNA Melaka members was so bored, they end up lepaking at GACC booth, and play cards. Also, they turn off the lights in the evening during the concert, so the hall was completely DARK, more reasons for them to get bored since they have nothing to do.
Good stuff about DaiCon? Of course, I get to meet up my friends again.
I can’t hang around with DaiCon comms though. Like I said, they “hate” me. I said “hi” to them and they ignore me. I tried to talk to them during EMiNA Cyber AGM again, and same result. They’re like.. gone “cocky”. Feeling the hate is not strong enough, they had to demonstrate it by removing me in Facebook. They must hate me that much.
Oh well, like I care.

Although I didn’t go to the event and having faith and trust in you, I believe what you said that their event suck. :P They are just playing the point and blame game.
